Where finance is completed by a third party there is an admin fee of £275.00 + vat payable to EMC.

Finance Applications

When completing an application for vehicle finance, you give us, “EMC” authority to request your credit history from credit reference agencies "CRAs" and you agree to a “soft” and/or a full "hard" credit search to be placed on your credit report, where necessary dependent on the lenders criteria.

This hard search will include information of your credit score, credit report and data related, such as credit providers, county court judgments "CCJs" and reasons for changes to your score or report. Hard searches will be visible to third parties.

When you submit an application, a hard credit search will be performed (depending on the lender) and your eligibility for vehicle finance will be considered by our selected panel of lenders. Each lender has their own acceptance criteria and will consider affordability elements that a credit search may not. Lenders will assess your ability to repay the finance, now and in the future, including in the event of a change in circumstances or the general market, such as an interest rate increase.

Before proceeding, please note that multiple hard credit searches near each other can detrimentally impact your credit score. Lenders and credit scoring consider how many “hard” credit searches you have on your credit file. The reason for this is applications for new credit increase the risk a borrower poses to lenders. Therefore, please be mindful before submitting multiple finance applications in a short time frame.

EMC may receive commission on finance agreements.
